Postmodern Architectural on the market in Malibu

Rambla Pacifica in Malibu

From the ArchitectureForSale.com website:  A Parnassus for creative living. Hidden down a long gated drive, the compound exploits 270-degree coastline and mountain views from its 5-acre promontory site. Symmetrically arrayed around the parking courtyard entry is a full-size tennis court; masonry wall defining the Sculpture Garden; and the residence oriented to the wide Pacific. Two pavilions bridge a large water fountain and pond, convertible back to a swimming pool if so desired. Earth, air and water come together in this daring postmodernist design fittingly called “The Temple of the Muses.” Traditional conceptions of space are deconstructed, particularly in the master suite. Both complexity and contradiction abound. Lower-level guest suite/screening room is accessible via an elevator from the master suite. Poured-concrete garage accommodates 4-car parking and storage for large art pieces or extensive collections of any nature. Bring your imagination and make this private world your own.

I photographed this postmodern residence a couple weeks back – incredible sightlines of the coast north and south, secluded, and exhibiting very kaleidoscope-like architectural planes that reminded me of the best of oneohtrix point never’s videos.
